Greetings Students and Families!
My name is Micah Smith, Golden Hill’s Middle School (6-8) Physical Education teacher! My main priority is to be supportive of my student’s health and well being. I am passionate about providing my students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be lifelong movers. I would like to expose them to as many opportunities to move their bodies with hope that they will find something that they enjoy doing. By the end of my class students will know what Physical Education is and its importance.
I am Pacific Islander and Asian American, I graduated magna cum laude with my Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education at CSU Sacramento and I received my Masters in Teaching from San Diego State University. I love being active, from sports to fitness, I am a lover of all forms of movement. I played basketball and volleyball in high school, women’s rugby in college, and I play in an adult women's recreational basketball league when I have spare time. I have coached basketball at the YMCA (ages 4-13), different club basketball teams, boy’s JV volleyball at Olympian High School, and I currently coach girl’s high school basketball at Olympian High School. I have also been a referee for the YMCA and college intramural basketball leagues. I have a very diverse sports background!
