Attendance

Regular attendance in school is vital to your student progress and achievement. The hands-on experiences and group discussions that are missed cannot be made up. If your child has an illness where it is better to stay home, please keep him/her home. If not, please ensure that he/she attends school on time, every day.

Middle School (grades 6-8): bell rings at 8:50AM, and students need to be in class no later than 8:55. Breakfast is served from 8:35-8:50 daily.

TK-5 students: bell rings at 9:07AM, so we encourage students to arrive no later than 9AM daily. We also encourage students to arrive at 8:45AM to participate in our running club.

Regular attendance is also important because it affects our school's funding. Our school does not receive money for days students do not attend school even though the absence may be excused (illness, doctor's appointment, etc.) School funding allows Golden Hill to provide the resources and materials that aim to assist students to succeed academically. We strongly encourage you to schedule any appointments during school breaks or after school hours. If you must be absent for more than 3 days, please sign an attendance contract with assigned homework so that your child's teachers can ensure that you child does not fall behind. Thanks!
