Mrs. Jimenez

Jimenez

iHola!

My name is Araceli Jimenez, and I am overjoyed to be the new resource teacher and English Learner (EL) coordinator here at Golden Hill K-8. I am a wife, a mother and a sister in a large family of nine children.

I am a graduate of San Diego State University and the University of San Diego where I received a master’s degree with an administrative credential.  I have over 31 years of educational experience teaching a wide range of grades from 1st to 8th grade, including 13 years in Bilingual Education/Spanish Immersion and 18 years as a resource teacher.

I believe EVERY child can learn but I also believe the way children learn is like a puzzle that a teacher must decipher, a skill an educator must continue to develop, every day of our career. I strongly believe in educating the whole child. I strive to meet the social/emotional, physical and academic needs of our students to be able to ensure equity and success in life. I love working enthusiastically with students of all ages and cultures; however, perhaps because I learned English as a second language, language acquisition has become a passion of mine.

I am a dedicated advocate of parent involvement and community participation. Working with parents and my school community brings sunshine to my day, as does gardening, going to the movie theater and going on long walks with friends. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you and I look forward to working with you.

iHasta pronto!

Araceli Jimenez
