Steinmetz

Hello, students and parents of our fine community,

Mr. Steinmetz received his Master's Degree in Education with an authorization for Mild/Moderate disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and English Learner Instruction from San Diego State University in May of 2016. He specializes in Behavioral Interventions, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, and Emotional Disturbances.

As a teacher here at Golden Hill, Mr. Steinmetz loves working with a diverse team of amazing teachers, staff, and administrators. He deeply enjoys working with all students at various grade levels, but his main focus is the middle school team. As an Education Specialist, Mr. Steinmetz's main focus is instructing and providing services to students that have been assessed as qualifying for an individualized education plan. He also assists teachers with planning, assessing, and monitoring students' progress towards their curriculum while co-teaching in different classrooms throughout the school day.

Mr. Steinmetz teaching philosophy is that every student has the ability to learn and all students can learn when they are given the proper support and services.  Mr. Steinmetz believes in a collaborative effort to assist students in discovering their passions, in order to help them achieve their full potential as growing individuals through the use of technology, innovation, and imagination.

Outside of the classroom, Steve loves spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys exploring San Diego and traveling to new places. You can usually find him participating in various action sports and pursuing his passion for photography and videography.

Looking forward to meeting with you,

Steve Steinmetz
